Work Programme Report

1.0       PURPOSE OF REPORT

1.1 To ask Members to consider the Committee’s work programme attached as appendix A and amend as required.

1.2 To ask Members to prioritise the topics listed in appendix B for consideration by the Area Committee.

2.0       BACKGROUND

2.1       The Committee Chair, Vice-Chair and the Democratic Services Officer consider the content and update the work programme. 

3.0       FUTURE ITEMS OF WORK

3.1       The Democratic Services Officer maintains a live version of the work programme, which is available for any committee member on request. A current version is always included in the papers for each committee meeting as part of the Work Programme Report.

3.2       The items currently scheduled for consideration at future meetings are shown at appendix A. The items shown in italics are standard items reported to each meeting if there are any updates to report.

3.3       Appendix B lists those items that have been suggested for consideration but not yet scheduled. The Chair has instructed the Democratic Services Officer to add a RAG rating to the Work Programme document to enable Members to rank topics in order of priority and to consider matters that were of particular interest to the committee.

3.4       Members are also requested to consider whether they require topics to be brought to a formal meeting of the committee or an informal briefing via Teams.

3.5       The notes against some items in appendix B provide information on upcoming actions which may address Members’ concerns.

3.6       Once Members have decided the topics they would like to be considered, officers will liaise with the service areas to assess the feasibility of reporting to the committee. The outcome will be advised at the next meeting of the committee.

Scheduled meeting dates

· Tbc - currently 18 December 2024 but requires rearranging to end Jan/early Feb 2025 – briefing on economic development and regeneration briefing via Teams

· 17 January 2025 at 10am – annual Council budget review via Teams

· 10 February 2025 at 4pm – outcomes of Let’s Talk Active consultation via Teams

· 25 April 2025 at 10am – Area Committee meeting

4.0	RECOMMENDATION
4.1	That Members: a) consider the Committee’s work programme and amend it as required. b) prioritise the topics listed in appendix B for consideration by the Area Committee.
